Michael is a Dominican comedy and animation writer from New Jersey, based in Los Angeles. He loves to write sharp comedies with humor and heart. He most recently wrote on the Netflix comedy Running Point, created by Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and Dave Stassen. His previous credits include Michelle Rojas Is Not Okay, Alice’s Wonderland Bakery, The Creature Cases, Sesame Street, Craig of the Creek, Scooby-Doo! & the Mystery Pups, and more.
Michael has worked on dozens of shows from studios like Audible/Broadway Video, Bento Box/20th TVA, Sony, Disney, Nickelodeon, and Warner Bros. He’s a two-time Emmy nominee for his writing in animation. His writing has been recognized by the WGA East’s “Made in NY” Fellowship, the BMI Musical Theater Workshop, Read Latinx Writer’s Initiative, the Sesame Street Writers Room, and the Outfest Screenwriting Lab. He was also a finalist for the FOX Writer’s Incubator (Adult Animation). Through programs like these, Michael has been mentored by showrunners like Robert Carlock (30 Rock), Ali Schouten-Seeks (iCarly), and Moisés Zamora (Selena: The Series).
Michael started out in sketch comedy, musical theater, and satire writing. His humor pieces have been published in McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, Points In Case, Janice Mag, and more. His digital sketches were often featured on the Funny Or Die homepage when that was still a thing.
When he isn’t writing at his local coffee shops, you can find him giving misleading directions to tourists in Griffith Park.
Michael is repped at Mosaic.
